The Halifax Common is the oldest urban park in Canada. Of the original 240 acres only 80 acres remain, as the public land has slowly given way to cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and museums, office buildings, parking lots, restaurants, and condominiums. The Common is a site-specific audio performance for headset, experienced by one audience member at a time, that unearths the secrets that lie buried in familiar places and examines the private meanings we make of public space.
